NICO PARTNERS IN CHILD HEALTH

A Medical registrar was sponsored to proceed with his medical training to enhance his service capability to the children of Mercy James Paediatric Centre for Surgery. NICO sponsored 5million Kwacha towards the registrar’s training. It all started with the institution inviting NICO for a tour of the hospital to appreciate the facilities that it has.

The hospital has one of the best medical facilities in the country. It was then discovered that although the facility is well equipped there is still gaps that other institutions such as NICO could come in to improve the service. One of such needed areas for service improvement was training of medical personnel. NICO looking at the great contribution other responsible and concerned institutions, especially foreign institutions and individuals have done, it was felt that it is high time local institutions step up to embrace this facility. “NICO is glad to be associated with this institution which is making positive difference to the health of our children,” Lorraine Phiri, Group Head of Marketing for NICO said. Phiri further commended the team from Raising Malawi, staff of Mercy James Centre, and other corporate institutions that have made this a safe place for the children to seek medical attention.
