Emmanuel is responsible for overall leadership of the company. He has overall responsibility for operations of NICO Asset Managers including reporting to the Board of Directors. He is responsible for Client Portfolio Performance, Investment Reporting, Corporate Finance work and Risk Management. He oversees relationships and negotiations with external consultants and other professionals such as actuaries, auditors and regulatory authorities. Emmanuel previously worked as Head of Risk Management and Compliance Services at NICO Holdings Limited where he was responsible for providing assurance to the NICO Holdings Limited Board of Directors regarding controls mitigating high risk areas, audit reviews and risk reporting in all NICO Holdings subsidiary companies except NBS Bank. Before NICO, Emmanuel worked at Deloitte, as Audit and Assurance Manager where he was involved in audits, risk reviews, preparation of management reports; preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS for various blue chip companies in the financial services, manufacturing and services industry. He was also part of the team involved in due diligence and advisory work on one listed company and for another unlisted company.

Finance Manager

James is responsible for management accounts reporting, preparation of audited financial statements for the company, treasury management, tax management, transaction processing in ACCPAC and liaison with external auditors. He has expertise in financial reporting, Taxation management, Working capital management, Treasury management, internal controls, and External audit. James previously worked for Deloitte as an Audit Senior.

  • Level II candidate of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program

Chikondi responsibilities include: leading and managing investment teams, developing investment opportunities and investment strategies, structuring and closing deals. Before NICO, Chikondi worked at The Foods Company Limited as Chief Finance Officer where he was responsible for the financial management of the company, directing  financial plans, accounting practices and  implementation of control systems. He was responsible for preparing proposals and financial viability assessments for projects and was involved in project negotiations and implementation. He provided leadership to procurement committee and managed tax affairs of the company. He was in charge of treasury, cash flow management and managed the company budgeting process and budget controls.

Martin is responsible for Infrastructure and Property development, property asset management, project management and Investment viability analysis. He is also responsible for the property portfolio which accounts for in excess of fifty percent of all assets under management. Martin previously worked as a senior Quantity Surveyor at SFS Property Consultants.

Grace is responsible for retaining and growing funds under management for the money market fund, overseeing client relations and ensuring that there is provision of optimal client service. Grace identifies new business opportunities and prepares business proposals. She also provides support in contract negotiations and other business development initiatives. Grace also plans and implements the marketing plan, coordinates all corporate events and Corporate Social Responsibility events for NICO Asset Managers.

Tafika is responsible for the preparation of all economic research reports, listed and unlisted company anaysis. She also prepares fixed income and equity analysis which is used a a basis for investment decisions. Tafika is also involved in the corporate finance department in capital raising, equity and debt origination.

Senior Investor Services Officer

  • Bachelor of Social of Sciences (Economics) obtained from the University of Malawi

Masautso works as an Investor Services Officer responsible for the management of NICO Holdings Limited, NBS Bank and Blantyre Hotels Limited Share Registers which involves share transfers, dividend payments and reconciliations and attending to all queries pertaining to the registers among other things. He is also involved in corporate events for the companies such as attending AGMs, sending out notices etc. in liaison with the Company Secretaries in compliance with Malawi Stock Exchange rules, Securities Act and other relevant regulations.
